Autism & ADHD Assessments

Giftedness Profiling

Whether you're seeking clarity, validation, or a deeper understanding of how your brain works — you're in the right place.

I offer clinical assessments for Autism & ADHD and Giftedness Profiling in a way that is designed to feel affirming, spacious, collaborative, and empowering. Although these assessments are clinical, this is not a clinical checkbox experience — it’s a process of witnessing your story with care, curiosity, and nuance.

This isn’t just a dry, clinical assessment — it’s a compassionate, collaborative process of discovery that brings clarity, affirmation, and direction.

Whether you're exploring Autism, ADHD, or giftedness (or all three), you’ll walk away with:

  • Language for your lived experience — rooted in both clinical understanding and deep attunement to who you are.

  • Insight into your patterns, strengths, and sensitivities — so you can move through the world with more self-trust, and have a clearer idea of accommodations and adjustments you might need.

  • Answers to the quiet questions you’ve been carrying — Am I missing something? Is there a reason things feel harder for me? Could there be a different way?

  • Personalized recommendations for next steps, accommodations, support options, and further reflection.

  • A written report — (comprehensive or concise options available) that you can use to advocate for yourself in school, work, or personal life (or simply hold onto as a touchstone for your own growth).

This process is affirming, not pathologizing. It's designed to help you see yourself and your differences (not deficits!) more clearly — and feel more at home in who you’ve always been.

How does it work?

Here's what the process typically looks like:

  • Click one of the ‘book your assessment’ buttons on this page to fill out the assessment interest form, and I’ll get back to you with some available times.

  • Once we’ve booked a time for your assessment, you'll be sent a set of screening tools and questionnaires to complete before we meet. These help us begin to understand your experience and guide our time together.

  • We’ll meet over Zoom for one or two conversations (depending on the type of assessment). I’ll guide you through a neurodiversity-affirming, narrative-based process that centers your lived experience. For Autism assessments, I use the MIGDAS-2 model and more. ADHD and Giftedness profiling include specialized tools and frameworks tailored to each area.

  • You’re welcome to invite a partner, family member, or close friend to share their perspective via an online form. This can be helpful, but it’s entirely up to you - I’ll check in with you during your assessment to see if this is something that truly feels supportive for you.

  • After the written report is complete, we can schedule a 45-minute follow-up session to go over the findings. It’s a chance for you to ask questions, and we can explore next steps together.

  • You'll receive either a Comprehensive (20–30 pages) or Abbreviated (4–5 pages) report, depending on your selection. All reports are securely delivered through a private client portal.

  • If you'd like support integrating what you’ve learned after your assessment, you’re welcome to book follow-up sessions or lean into ongoing 1:1 therapeutic support with me — many folks find it helpful to have space to process, ask questions, and allow their nervous systems to take up the nourishment from these sessions.

Which report should you choose?

Comprehensive Report

I recommend this option if you are planning to formally request any type of accommodation (academic, workplace, etc.). This option is also recommended if you want more comprehensive documentation of your assessment and findings.

Abbreviated Report

If you’re not as interested in a full written report, but still want confirmation from a licensed provider on neurodivergent diagnoses.

Please note that you must be physically in the state of Oregon during your assessment interview (just the assessment, not for the followup consultation).

A note about accommodations and documentation:

The assessments I offer are well-suited for personal clarity, most workplace accommodations, and many medical or therapeutic contexts — but it’s important for you to check that an assessment from an LPC will meet your needs before going ahead.

For some, starting an assessment like this can stir up a lot — questions, doubts, a whole mix of emotions — and all of this is welcome. You might be feeling curious, hopeful, nervous, relieved, excited, overwhelmed, all of the above...

It’s important to know that you don’t have to hold all of this alone. Whether you're brimming with questions or just need a little reassurance, I’m here to support you every step of the way. If this feels like something you want to explore, we’ll move through it together — gently, thoughtfully, and at your pace.

There are a few different pricing options available depending on the assessment/s you’re after and the kind of report you need - a thorough, formal report or a simpler summary.

Autism Assessment

  • Comprehensive Report: $1,875

  • Abbreviated Report: $975

ADHD Assessment

  • Standalone (Comprehensive): $1,275

  • Standalone (Abbreviated): $875

  • Add-On to Autism Assessment: +$725

ADHD assessments are available on their own or as an add-on to your Autism assessment. If we’re doing both together, your ADHD report will follow the same format you choose for your Autism report — either comprehensive or abbreviated.

Giftedness Profiling

  • Standalone: $875

  • Add-On to Autism and/or ADHD Assessment: +$725

My approach to Giftedness Profiling is grounded in the model developed by Intergifted. You can choose to explore this as a standalone service, or as an add-on to your Autism and/or ADHD assessment.

Combined Assessments

  • Autism + ADHD (Comprehensive): $2,600

  • Autism + ADHD (Abbreviated): $1,700

Fees are generally broken into three - the first payment due at the time of booking, the second at the time of your assessment, and the third at the time of your followup appointment. If you prefer to make the full payment up front, you’re welcome to do so.

These services are private pay only and are not billed through insurance.

Who am I?

hi

I’M SHELBY LEIGH, MA, LPC

Shelby Leigh (she/her) is a Somatic Psychotherapist, trauma specialist, coach, educator, assessor, and Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience. Her approach blends nervous system support, somatic practices, attachment theory, and trauma-informed mindfulness to support healing in a deeply holistic and non-pathologizing way. Known for her neurodiversity-affirming, inclusive, and grounded presence, Shelby creates spaces that feel like a deep exhale—where all parts of a person are welcomed and honored.

Her work centers around supporting individuals with complex and developmental trauma, guiding clients and clinicians alike toward ease, wholeness, and self-trust.

Shelby also offers Adult Autism, ADHD, and Giftedness assessments through her private practice in Bend, OR, helping neurodivergent individuals access compassionate care rooted in understanding and affirmation.

When away from work, you’ll find her driving down a dirt road, taking in gorgeous views, road-tripping, wandering in the woods, rafting a river, midnight canoe stargazing, flying somewhere tropical, typing half-written memoirs, taking long naps, chasing sunsets - and always returning to the question: “What is the most loving thing I can do in this moment?”
