Trauma Aware vs. Trauma Informed

Ep. 5: Trauma Aware vs. Trauma Informed

We have a new episode of the Relationship as Medicine podcast ready for you! This week features a solo episode where I help us get crystal clear on some key trauma terminology.

Folks, I had it backwards! In this episode I break down the difference between being "trauma aware" vs "trauma informed" for anyone who is a care provider working individually or within an organization or system. People who haven't been overwhelmed by the impacts of trauma also value these types of care as well. You'll learn why being trauma informed is a necessity whereas being "trauma specific" is not. You'll learn how to start moving towards being direct and informative with people impacted by trauma instead of tiptoeing around them which is not helpful for anyone.

I invite you to get on over there and have a listen and let me know how it lands for you. I’m really excited about this new podcast and want to keep shaping it around what’s supportive and engaging for YOU.
